The island has two mountains peaks,Pachatata ( father Earth ) and Pachamama ( Mother Earth ), with ancient Inca and Tiwanaku ruin son top of both. Its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agricultura, as well as being specialist in cutting and Stone carving.
Amantani is nknown as the “ Island of the Kantuta “ as this is considered as the national flower of Peru and Bolivia, and grows abundantly on the island.
